"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."

"Good to Go" VBS Open House

Each year we end Vacation Bible School with our annual Hot Dog and Bean Open House. The crowd was a bit smaller than usual, but we still had a fun time.

Ms. Dubois, Iggy, and all of their friends joined us for one final production.

The teens put on a series of skits and tested the congregation's Scripture knowledge with Bible charades.

Some of our Worship Team members joined us so we could have a little bit of music too!

Out of all the supporters of "Good to Go" VBS, the little ones are the most fun.

The Church Council would like to thank all those who supported and assisted with this year's "Good to Go" VBS program.

"Good to Go" VBS - Day 5

After a week of ups and downs, Ms. Dubois, the world famous director, was looking forward to an easy day. That's not exactly what she got.

Seems new best friends Mickey and Leonardo decided they didn't want to be in Hamlet. Mickey said it would be nice to put on a production about a lion who comes from the jungle to a new school and acts all tough on his first day to try and impress everyone, but soon this lion realizes what it means to be a true friend.

Iggy, Izzy, Juan, Oreo, Quacky, and Spike all seemed to like the idea too. It was tough convincing Ms. Dubois, but in the end, she allowed the students to put on their own production, with the condition that if the play became popular, she got to direct the movie.

The blessings were many during this year's "Good to Go" VBS and the team is looking forward to doing it all again next year.

"Good to Go" VBS - Day 4

Though tensions ran high yesterday, things got back on track today. There were a few anxious moments when Mickey and Leonardo were missing at the beginning of tryouts. The students feared they were off fighting somewhere. When Mickey and Leonardo came in chatting up a storm and laughing, even Ms. Dubois seemed relieved.

Mickey and Leonardo became friends and Mickey decided to help him with his lines so that Leonardo could play Hamlet in the school production. With that settled, I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

"Good to Go" VBS - Day 3

Tryouts didn't go so well for Leonardo the Great. The lion with superb stage presence, forget to study his lines. Mickey, however, did a great job when he tried out for the role of Hamlet. All his friends thought he was wonderful. Everyone except Leonardo, who made the poor little mouse feel so bad, he ran away, which made Iggy and friends very angry. Oreo the skunk got scared by the fighting, and you know what happens when skunks get scared don't you? Ms. Dubois certainly wasn't happy about that!

Ms. Dubois decided that she would hold tryouts again tomorrow to give Leonardo a chance to redeem himself. I wonder what will happen.

"Good to Go" VBS is running all week long at Living Gate Community Church at 151 Taylor, Street in Granby, MA. Kids in kindergarten through sixth grade are encouraged to attend each day from 9 AM - 12 PM. A teen program runs Monday through Thursday from 6 - 8 PM. No need to call, just show up. Feel free to bring a friend.

"Good to Go" VBS - Day 2

"Good to Go" VBS started Day 2 with another visit by Iggy and friends. Leonardo was up to his tricks again. He decided that he would be the best guy to try out for the role of Hamlet in Ms. Dubois' theatre production. Mickey thought he might make a good Hamlet too, since he did very well in last year's school play.

Students met more new friends today: Oreo the skunk and Spike the porcupine. As always, Quacky was being just plain silly. Ms. Dubois was hoping Juan would hold up his end of the bargain to get her in touch with Selena Gomez to see if the young actress might be interested in starring in an original Francine Dubois production.

Tryouts for Hamlet will start tomorrow, so hope you can be there.

"Good to Go" VBS Day 1

"Good to Go" Vacation Bible School kicked off today with a visit from Iggy and both new and old friends. Seems the world famous (at least in her mind) director Francine Dubois is holding tryouts in the school auditorium for her production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Iggy, Juan, and Mickey are going to try out for parts in this production that Ms. Dubois is certain will get her noticed on Broadway.

Oh, there's a new guy at school, Leonardo the Great. He's sure he's going to get the lead role in "Hamlet". Wonder if he's right.
